The California Public Records Act (CPRA) is a state law that grants the public the right to inspect and access public records maintained by state and local agencies, ensuring government transparency. Under the CPRA, public records include any written or digital communication related to the public’s business, subject to certain statutory exemptions. SB 827 Ethical Training Records Requests
Senate Bill 827 (SB 827) is a California statute that explicitly requires ethical training records maintained by local public agencies to be open to public disclosure under the Public Records Act. This includes documentation, attendance logs, and compliance records (such as AB 1234 ethics training certificates) completed by District board members and designated officials.
