Current Projects

The summer of 2011 has been a big season for improvements made to four basin park sites. The District was fortunate enough to receive grants to make improve to four of its parks. The Fansler Foundation awarded a $74,416 for the replacement of the big kids' play structure at Sloan Johnson Oso de Oro Park, and First 5 Fresno County awarded $67,957 in grants for six shade structures at four basin parks.

Sloan Johnson Oso de Oro Park

Two new shade structures over play equipment funded by First 5 Fresno County, new big kids' play structure funded by the Fansler Foundation, and underlying play matting, resurfacing of the tunnel, and many other maintenance projects to refresh the park.

Trolley Creek Park

One new shade structure over the large play structure, funded by First 5 Fresno County.

The Kaviland Street basin park, west of Walnut Ave.

Two new shade structures over play equipment, funded by First 5 Fresno County. The grant included the 14 new trees and the planting expertise of Tree Fresno.

Sunset Park

One new shade structure over play equipment, funded by First 5 Fresno County. The grant included the 8 new trees and the planting expertise of Tree Fresno.
