Welcome to the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District web site!

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District provides flood control and urban storm water services in a 400-square mile watershed located between the Kings and San Joaquin Rivers. The District is home to 700,000 people and includes both urban and agricultural land uses.

Governed by a seven-member board, the District provides:

  • Flood control
  • Urban drainage
  • Groundwater Resource Management
  • Recreation Opportunities and Open Space

Draft 2008/2009 Budget ready for review

The 2008/2009 Draft Budget is going before the District Board of Directors for a budget workshop on June 11, followed by the budget hearing on June 25.

2008 Drainage Fee Update Available

The 2008 drainage fee update has been completed and is linked here for viewing. Drainage fees apply to construction projects in the Cities of Clovis and Fresno and Fresno County within the District's boundary. For the 2008 drainage fee rate study, District staff reviewed drainage areas utilizing the most recent pipeline costs available and a new automated rate calculation program linked to GIS and accounting data.
