Mr. Roy Spina

Mr. Spina was born in Los Angeles, and has lived in Fresno and Clovis since 1942. Mr. Spina attended Fresno schools and graduated from Fresno State with degrees in Math and Civil Engineering. He started his engineering career at the Division of Highways while he was still in college. During that time, he joined the Air National Guard and served as an enlisted man before being commissioned an officer. In 1973 Mr. Spina accepted a position with the Guard as the Base Engineer, and served for five years. He remained active in the Guard as Commander of the Civil Engineering Flight until 1982.

Mr. Spina accepted a position as District Engineer for the Clovis Unified School District in 1978, where he oversaw construction, maintenance and operations. Five years later he moved to a comparable position in Fresno Unified and served for 12 years, retiring in 1994. In addition to his work with the District, he serves on the Board of the Shinzen Japanese Garden located in Woodward Park, and is active in the S.A.E. Fraternity Alumni Association.
